Cleanliness is Next to KabbalahnessPart of: Gossip , Music
It's not that wacky that Madonna is wearing a shirt while swimming In Miami, because it would suck to be performing sunburned. The towel thing is a bit much but hardly any celebrities are ever photographed after they've been swimming when their hair and makeup destroyed. If they are, they end up in The National Enquirer or Star magazine in one of those celebs-that-look-like-shit-without-makeup stories. However, some of Madonna’s backstage demands for her Confessions tour are plain kooky.
Madge is insisting that her dressing room toilets have a brand-new loo seat for every night of the tour which kicks off in Cardiff on Sunday. We're told: "The seat has to be inspected by her people, then installed - with an unbroken seal - by plumbers before every gig." And that's just one in a long list of peculiar demands, which includes three special Kabbalah candles. She wants...A DNA Of The Soul candle, made of a blend of lemon, lemon grass, tea, cinnamon and myrrh, which is meant to "restore meaning to lives that often feel meaningless". A POWER of Prosperity candle which is meant to give you the strength to keep your ego in check - presumably when the cheques start rolling in. With tickets up to £150 a pop there'll certainly be some hefty pay days. AN Evil Eye candle, which offers protection from negative glances. The paying public, then?
The Material Girl has also asked for an Ein Gedi Dead Sea Foot Spa to help her relax when she comes off stage, with lavender and camomile Body Soak. And to stop her piling on the pounds in between shows, the singer will snack on unsalted Edamame - a type of Japanese pea. And hubby Guy Ritchie's luck seems to be in - she also wants her very own love-seat in her dressing room. Her Madgesty, who will hit London's Wembley Arena on August 1, also insists that everything else in her dressing room, including the walls, will be draped in white - the symbolic colour of her faith, Kabbalah. Dozens of white roses will decorate the backstage area and the all-important bottles of Kabbalah water will be on hand. Madonna's US spokesperson Liz Rosenburg reveals that cleanliness is next to godliness when it comes to Madonna: "And who wouldn't want a new toilet seat wherever they go?" How true. [via 3AM]
